Weapon slots are story mission rewards. Just move forward through the story and you'll eventually have four equipable weapon slots.

I'm almost at the Vault on my first playthrough and according to my friend I've missed 2 claptraps. Now if I go ahead and beat the final boss etc. is there a chance to go back to the claptraps then or does everything just reset and go to playthrough 2?

In other words, do I have to do all the claptrap missions before I beat playthrough 1 to get the maximum number of backpack slots by the time im 50? Also for some reason I cannot find any hellfire SMGs. Anyone know where I can get them? I've been doing a bit of chest farming in New Haven and Crimson Fastness but all I ever find is shotguns and rocket launchers.

No, I finished my first playthrough with 36 slots, then got the remaining two I missed on my second playthrough. You'll be fine.

You can still go back to Playthrough 1 and do them there also.

I found an Eridian Shotgun at level 4, couldn't use it till 19. But when I did, I was able to kill all 8 of Mad Mel's Patrols without a vehicle. Also, there's like NO recoil from Eridian snipers, combined with a doubled/tripled rate of fire, so it kinda balances out. Definitely not a substitute, but a good complement for a better sniper.

Beat the game solo, level 35 Soldier. Even though I don't have the net at my house right now, I still love it. I wrecked the entire last 5 missions or so with a sniper I got called the DVL Hard Volcano, does like 360 damage, 4x Fire element, and I have it up to a 16-shot chamber.

Getting a crit off a Badass mob and watching it explode and dispense lewt as your character just starts laughing maniacally is always, always satisfying.

My brother and I (he Hunter, me Berserker) are 21 now, and having a lot of fun. We're taking it slow because of our work schedules, but our classes work beautifully together. He'll drop something with a headshot and I'll intercept the return fire, crushing everything alongside his crazy-ass bird.

I'd suggest grabbing the backpack SDU's before you start the second playthrough. Sometimes the game will glitch and give you an extra SDU for second Claptrap Rescues. I have 45 backpack spaces, but am only supposed to have 42, so that's kinda nice!

I heard that if you have a full backpack and complete the claptrap rescue in playthrough 2 it will give you an SDU but I'm not sure if thats true. If I do run out of spaces I will just cheat and give myself the normal amount anyway.

I've got a full backpack on my first run and done all the claptraps in the second run and all I got was a bunch of grenade mods and one SDU.

I just did some short research and they said that claptraps on playthrough 2 randomly gives SDU but on very low percentage. If you want to really max out your backpack you better prepare to quit and reload a lot.

You don't really need more than the 42 slots though. At most I'll have five class mods and five or six extra weapons (for different enemies and stuff).

Unless you're selling absolutely everything you find, the 42 slots is enough to hold anything decent until you find a vending machine.

What kind of grenade mods do you guys use? I've been using transfusion for pretty much the whole game, since the grenades arent too helpful anyway.

I mostly use tranfusion but occasionly I will use the proximity for arena matches. Anyone else here a siren? With the firefly class mod plus pheonix everything seems to be easy mode. I kill one enemy then just run around lighting everyone on fire. I dont even have to fire a bullet the damage is so good. The 50% speed boost with intuition is awesome for doing this as well.

Gave this a rental. Sweet game. Unfortunately, the internet at college still ain't working so I can't play online with any peeps (sorry Alco). I went through the past couple pages and replied - tl;dr version just some random thoughts I had.

I found Rakkishnu whilst exploring and he was making a wide arc when I finished him and as he fell down, there was a beautiful circle of money piles, ammo, and various weapons strewn about. It was glorious.

I have a level 28 hunter, 21 soldier, 26 Brick (who's skills need redistributed), and level 7 Siren.

I'm a level 18 with Support Gunner mod.

Also I have the shotgun that fires rockets. I found it in a hidden chest near a checkpoint in Sledge's Hideout, the one with the Roid Rage Psycho.

It's description is "Holy crap! It shoots rockets!"

Alright, I have my Roland up to level 15 I think. He still sucks pretty bad, but I really want to play some online with you guys. By the way, all of my guns basically suck.

How do you get screenshots of your weapons? I remember reading something about being able to do that for PC (not print screen).

Anyone have a hellfire SMG they are willing to trade? I'm level 43 and I've never found one through all the time I've spent playing. I've farmed New Haven for about 3 hours of that time as well.

To take a screenshot of a gun, right click it and Save Screenshot. To take a normal screenshot, hit F8.

I've heard around the intertubes that borderlands is up to a bit of mischief regarding multiplayer, so I googled around and found out how to fix it.

After painfully setting up a static IP and opening the ports required to allow others to join my game, I am now actually able to host games.

Played a bit with Sochi, and it was a hell of a lot better than single player but I get the feeling it won't start to get really fun untill we're well into our teen levels.

After buying this and Modern Warfare 2, I'm honestly not sure which one is better. They are easily the best games of the past year, and I don't expect to tire of them for at least 5 or 6 months.

Also, the game gets 1000x harder when you play with someone else. Enemies multiply, have more health, etc.

I think if anyone wants to play together, they should have their characters around level 15 or so before they start causing trouble.

If you're around level 15 or so, there's a sweet little spot with about 3 enemies around level 19 with a pink treasure chest and a big grey chest. It's above the first crystals mine in Arid Badlands, there's a sort of bridge across the canyon that leads to a few shacks on the other side of the canyon (this is also where you do the "find the parts for a rifle" mission I believe). It's almost directly west of Shep's shack, if you take the dotted road you'll see it on your left. Good place to encounter a small number of higher level enemies with a chance at some great weapons. Careful though, one of them usually had a shock weapon which ate my shields. I recommend bringing a sniper rifle or rocket launcher.

Skagzilla was fun, it took me forever to kill him though. That big Raak one was pretty tough too.
