I am actually surprised noone has made this thread yet, but anyhow.

For those who haven't seen Dexter, he is a sociopath and a serial killer, taught to live in society by his foster father, Harry. Harry noticed at a young age that Dexter was 'special', so he taught Dexter how to kill, who to kill (in this case, criminals who get away) and how to get away with it. He also teaches Dexter how to feign emotion so no one suspects him. Dexter works in the homicide department as a blood spatter analyst, so he can easily choose his newest victim.

We're into the fourth episode of season three, and already we've seen hints of our new killer (not enough hints, if you ask me). Also, in the first episode, Rita revealed that she is pregnant.

Why do I always read spoilers first? Oh well, I'll probably forget it before I actually buy the season on DVD.
The show owns, season two completely kept up the awesomeness but Lila was annoying.

I loved Season 1 and most of the Season 2. The third season is looking decent but not amazing.

Third season isn't near as HOLY FUCK EDGE OF SEAT as second season was. It's leaning more towards the drama side. We'll see if they balance it out, maybe in this season or in the next, but yeah, Dexter is probably one of my favorite shows ever.

I JUST started watching it this week, I just finished Season 2, Episode 4 and can't wait to be caught up by the end of the month.

I actually preferred the first season, because not only was it about Dexter, but it also had a serial killer that we needed to figure out. Second didn't appeal to me as much because it was all about Dexter (and most of the interesting stuff we found out in season one, anyway), and that same air of suspense and mystery wasn't there. Sure, it was replaced with the suspense that Dexter may get caught, but still. Plus Lila was fucking annoying as hell.

I am enjoying season three so far. I agree that it is nowhere near as tense as the last two. I am hoping they focus more on this dude who is skinning everyone, and less on freakin' Oscar Prado. Also it will be interesting to see how Dexter's child turns out, whether he is the same, and how Dexter will raise him. But I don't think we will see that in season three.

It is an awesome show. I've only seen the first season and like a half of the 2nd one though. It's really catchy. The first season was pretty tense, but I'm sure everyone figured out the killer pretty soon after he started dating Dexters sister

I love this show. I'm just finished season two but I have to say I thought season one was a little better but all in all the show is just great.

Also, am I the only person that hates Deb? She just really annoys me.

One of few series that delivers high quality every season. Compared to Lost and such ..

Hope it stays that way because there will be two more seasons after this third one,,,

It certainly is decent. I've been watching it as it's shown on TV here, which means I've only seen the first season, and I'm hooked. Beats the crap out of Lost, and even Prison Break (which is starting to go 'round in circles plot-wise.)

Has anybody read the Dexter books, upon which the TV show is based?

I've read Darkly Dreaming Dexter, and honestly I thought the series is much better than it. The book was kind of dry, boring, and not written very well at all. I think this could be the only case of a series being better than the book it's based on.

I read the first book and I was going to read the rest but I read on Wiki or something that what actually drives him to kill is some evil force in his body, so I thought that would be pretty ghey.

dexter is my favorite show of all time.
my prediction for season 4. rita's and dexters baby will die in childbirth, rita will kill herself, and dexter will take astor and cody in.
for the special episode that there has been every season, where dexter has to go out of country to figure shit out, he's going to go to canada. (woot, i love my home country) and he is going to kill some other serial killer who kills hookers.

best show ever.

I remember seeing an episode of Dexter It involved some killer taking his memories and leaving body parts in them, then he finds this warehouse where the victim with his legs and arm missing(?), which season was that?

I'm only saying this because I've become interested in the show, and everyone always says good things about it.

The show has gone downhill since season one but it perks up again at the end of season three when he kills Miguel. I just hope season four won't be utter shit.

You can probably find it on tvshack or something. I was really disappointed by the ending of season 3. It was so...anticlimactic.

I'm starting to think that 4 seasons is too much isn't it? Lets just hope it doesn't end up sucking... They should know when to stop.

THREAD REVIVED GUYS

Season 4 Episode 1 has been leaked onto the Internet (by Showtime on purpose to generate interest) for about a month. Saw it, was superb.

Dexter's fucked. He's carrying Benito Gomez's body parts in his trunk when he crashed. Speaking of which, that car flip was badass.

Trinity Killer looks great. Lol @ how, for an old man, every scene of his was him naked, taking a shower, occasionally killing someone.

Quinn is the new Doakes. Hates Dexter for ruining that one case in this episode. They seemed okay in Season 3, though.

Lundy's going to die. I'm calling it right now. Him being retired, freelance-tracking the Trinity Killer for 15 years now...Trinity's his nemesis. He can't not die. He'll probably die after finding out about Dexter, though.

Dexter always seems to start off meh but gets better throughout. Although I didn't really like the ending episodes of season 1, I saw that coming the second they actually showed the Ice Truck Killer (but didn't reveal him to be it).

Season 2 was great.

Season 3 is seeming pretty good.

I have watched the first ep of season 4. It was a pretty promising start, getting back to chasing the 'murderer of the season'. I like that.

I especially love that John Lithgow is in this season, fucking chuffed.

Andrey, I doubt Dexter is fucked. he'll find some way out of it, he always does. The show won't go on if he's behind bars, plus he's got a kid :P I have faith something will happen to get him out of it once more.

I was nearly going to create this topic about Dexter. It was a suprise for me that Dex is not at the first page. It's bloody awesome show.

But I get little bit sad during fourth episode of the same numbered season :(. Third season wasn't so good as second ( that was awesome as hell ) and curent one is getting funnier every episode.

I'm going to buy a original book from Jeff Lindsay - Darkly dreaming Dexter. Is anyone here, who has read it?

I've read that only the first season was based on the book, and that the book focuses a lot more on the "Dark Passenger" thing.

I liked season 3 a lot. In my opinion it's:

Season 1 - Awesome!
Season 3 - Sweet
Season 4 - We'll see

Season 2 - Alright

God I love Dexter. Not one of my fiends at school does though, so I have no one to talk to about it. Unfortunately, I don't have Showtime so I can't watch it until it comes out on Netflix. I always look forward to when it releases on DVD so my brother and I can watch every episode in like 3 days.
