I used to do that, then I found an exploit where you can just spam the use button on a sigil stone and pick up like 3 instead of just 1.

I'm not really into magic. My style at the moment is:

Sneak up on something and shoot it with a poisoned arrow.
If it's still alive, use the terrain to my advantage and keep shooting it, or pull out my sword and shield and beat them down.
Heal.
Dance.
Steal shit.

I may start using conjuration when I've got a bit more magicka at my disposal.

Its really easy to get conjuration up, 1 conjuration spell gives you as much experience as 8 restoration spells

I've really been kind of tempted to pick this and Morrowind up for Xbox and play them again. Should only be like 20 bucks for both of them, and I miss it. Especially Morrowind. If I get Oblivion though, I'm not patching that shit so I can dupe items all day again. Duping things like shields with that glitch was so awesome, because you basically drop them and hit them with your weapon. If you dupe a bunch of shields, not only does it lag the shit out of the game, but they expand like a huge fucking snake. So cool.

I'm better at fighting on a console, so I prefer it on PS3. However, the paintbrush glitch was semi-fixed on the PS3 version, which is gay.

I played it on Xbox and it tended to glitch the fuck out. I used the paintbrush glitch to make myself a sniper balcony for example, and the AI tweaked out and I wasn't able to get myself out of combat.

The same being able to unescape from combat happened when I just ran across the globe, past every enemy.

Had to reload saves from before those events to fix it.

Even on PC I tend to have to make reference saves and rely heavily on autosaves and quicksaves incase some sort of scripting error crops up in a main quest or something. But It's good to be able to use the console to activate journal entries when the game fucks up.

I actually feel obligated to get back into this game. I'm not horribley far into (a good 35 hours maybe) it and my friends have been discussing it recently. Probably about half of the time I did play was spent in The Shivering Isles, so I'm prety behind on the main quest. On the 4th Oblivion portal, maybe. I think I may get back into this with one of my friends this weekend.

There's a physics scripting error that causes them to rock back and forth in a pendulum motion or spin around because they can't land on their sides. It's pretty neat.

Random fights in the streets, odd conversations between NPCS ("Hello" "Aren't YOU ugly" "Bye!") and the occasional goblin stuck in a door

My level is like 63 no lie, I'm an orc and my strength is like 215 acrobatics is like 225, Spped 215, i have like 1 mil for gold and yeah I used hella glitchs.

Yeah but you can still level up through exploits. You can trick the game into thinking a stat is below 100 by penalizing yourself (disease, poisons, etC) and then leveling it back up to get credit towards leveling.

And that's just the non-glitch method.

As for skills, again -- glitching. Same thing. Weaken them through diseases, level up, put a point to them, they wind up fucking up.

Also, going to jail will lower your stats some, but not your level. Lowering them and then bringing them up again works.

Also, here's a nifty calculator to tell what your cap is naturally.

Calculator just tripped me the fuck out. I typed in all the info from my old character (which I had named John Doe) and the calculator named the char John Doe. I was going crazy until I realized it probably does that for everyone that doesn't type in a char name.

I've been getting back into this a lot recently. Right now I'm a mage level 10. Basically I just throw my headless zombie into the fray and then shoot spells from a distance, works nicely.

Closing a million oblivion gates is getting repetitive, though.

I think you will be more frustrated than entertained man, those games which I loved back then are buggy and annoying as hell, and iirc they even froze.

I usually avoid the gates almost entirely till I'm in the early 20 levels. You find heaps better stuff in them and the sigil stones are much better then.

Before that, it's not really worth the trouble, and even then I only bother occasionally.

I think it's kind of silly that there is literally an oblivion gate every couple of hundred feet in the wild.
