You could buy a new processor. And ghz isn't the only thing to worry about, what processor do you have and what does it recommend?

I got an Intel 2.31GHz and the game says it requires at least a 3.0GHz. But I asked my computer-building friend and he said that it shouldn't matter. I also tried this step by step thing on Activision's help site but that did jack shit. So I'm just gona call/email their support and see if they can help me. And if I do have to buy one, how much do you think that would cost?
Edit: Got it working for now, ignore stuff above, but I'll post again if something comes up. |

I can't right click the internet.
So I still have full functionality of my mouse and can right click just about everything, but when I'm browsing I can't right click on links or images to bring up the options for them. Also I'm using firefox. |

If I have a disk to a game and the installation code, can I just download it off steam without having to buy it?

BMP: Short answer is No.
You can download the game by logging in as someone who actually owns the game then downloading it to your computer, but you can't actually play it unless you're logged in on an account that owns the game. On your own account, it will say it's pre-installed, but you can't play it til you purchase it. |

Ok thanks Axidos! New question however. I know I have a lot of questions but my PC decided it hates me and wants me to suffer forever.
As you all may or may not know I had to wipe my computer of everything. I tried re-installing some games but...alas, they fail to download. Even though they worked fine previously. Games like Company of Heroes and Command and Conquer 3 - the former just has an error code right away while the latter decides it wants to download very slowly for about an hour and then gives me the error code. I will post the error codes in the future if necessary. I thought this problem might have been caused because I downloaded a Windows-vista skin/icon look alike thing, as well as a Windows 7 look a like thing. Neither of them worked. I thought I deleted them both, but my games still won't install. My questions are 1) why would my games that installed fine before not work now, and 2) if my assumption was correct, how can I make sure I completely de-install the vista/7 look-alike programs. I did the "install/remove programs" list as well as checked my downloads and deleted anything I found there. |

Rule #veryimportantnumber of tech support: Always post the error code because they are great.
If you give me the error code I can just search for it immediately. Much quicker than searching for something vague like: steam download error "command and conquer" But I will proceed to search for exactly that, something may turn up. Edit: Programs Which May Interfere with Steam may be relevant to you. |

I will get you my error codes tomorrow - but by the way, I'm not downloading these games off of steam, I'm using CD's.

Oh. Well if you're downloading a large file off the internet, use a download manager. Your error could be due to some kind of disconnection somewhere along the line (some ISPs will occasionally reset your connection if they suspect you're engaging in piracy). Download managers can handle this, browsers cannot.

Isn't City of Heroes an NCSoft game? I think most of those games had certain problems with certain routers and stuff. I know Guild Wars did and it took me a good 20 minutes of messing around with stuff before I could finally get it to start downloading. That may be your problem.
