Okay so the list of songs for Guitar Hero III has already been confirmed and it has some great songs in there, but if you could make some additions what would they be and why?

I would personally like to see some more songs like:
Electric Eye - Judas Priest
Lucretia - Megadeth
Heretics and Killers - Protest the Hero
We're an American band - Poison
Dude looks like a lady - Aerosmith

And maybe something a little different like a bit of Deftones or Celldweller to mix it up.

Stairway would fucking suck on GH. The whole song would be boring to play besides the solo, and if they put it in, they'd probably get coerced into putting as the final encore, which would suck balls.

By the way, Electric Eye was on GH80's, so that won't be in. Great song though.

This is the first Guitar Hero I'm getting, I was pretty annoyed when they said they were adding boss battles. I bet they start fucking about with it all. Still buying it though, jus sayin.

They had to pick the worst choice of an AFI song

Summer Shudder or Kill Caustic would've beet better choices from decemberunderground, or even Death of Seasons, This Celluloid Dream, or anything before Sing the Sorrow?

Fuck ya, One by Metallica is in there. Raining Blood and Number of the Beast too, this game will kick ass. A few good songs would be:

It’s a guitar hero game so it should definitely have a zeppelin song. I am sure they won’t be able to get the rights to any though.

"The Black Horsemen" - King Diamond
"Called By The Fire" - Ihsahn (yea, no one knows who the hell this guy is *frontman of Emperor* but its such an amazing track that would fit perfectly in GH3)

I have yet to pick up the first two Guitar Heroes, but I think I may get GH3 after all. I like Rock Band's concept, but I don't think I would blow a wad of cash for the entire equipment.

They shoulda picked a different Chili Pepper song.. as much as I like Suck My Kiss, there were plenty others that are way better for GH3.

I wouldn't mind some heavier metal on there. Granted, D-force rules, but they're not that heavy. Some Cannibal Corpse or some Dark Tranquillity would be awesome, and some Children of Bodom or Wintersun would be amazing as hell.

If One by Metallica is on this, I will buy a version of this game for every system I own, I swear to god. Probably my favorite song. To be honest, there are so many songs that could have been on this game, it's not even funny. I don't think that "Miss Murder" – AFI should be on there at all, and I want to cut myself considering I'll HAVE to play that fucking song.

Definitely should have been more Metallica (I'm thinking Welcome Home, maybe Unforgiven), and some Pantera and Megadeth (Way to drop the ball, Red Octane?). They could have picked a better song by Santana, guitar-wise, too. I think it would have been hilarious to have a Peter Frampton song or two on there, too.

The Guitar Hero 3 song list is actually looking very, very good!

I love most of the bands on there, and they are mixing the old, new and really old bands nicely with a great choice of songs and bands.

I love Muse too, so it is brilliant to see them on there!

Paranoid on there as well, played that as a kid and will be looking forward to playing it on a game!

as for adding songs;

Stairway To Heaven would be amazing,

Joe Satriani's 'The Summer Song' would be a great guitar piece, long albeit but would be one awesome song!

While I agree Stairway is a great song, if they added it to Guitar Hero 3 it would be on principle alone.. It's a long, completely un-challenging song on guitar, and it would be boring to play on a video game.

By the way, there's only like 30-40 songs announced, and theres 70+ on the game (no including DLC, I'm pretty sure) so there's every chance your favourite song is still on there.

They supposedly had a whole bunch of trouble just getting the rights to one Metallica song so I doubt we'll see anymore.

I'm excited about Paint It Black. I've always thought it would make a good GH song.

There shouldn't be any worries if there aren't too many hardcore songs on there, because Rock Band is supposedly touting songs for nearly every genre. In addition to this, I wouldn't doubt Children Of Bodom appear on GH3. It'd be pretty hard to ignore the hundreds of fan videos on youtube, and plus, it would be challenging and fun, most likely becoming the equivalent of Six and Jordan on GH2.
