This is a thread about the Sims and neither of those things are Sims related. Actually, the whole second half of your post just straight up doesn't make sense.

actually in the sims 2 there's a code that you put (and I think it's in the options) where you can put the items wherever you want instead of the grid thingy...
plus there's another code that makes you rotate them in any degree instead of the four degrees option...

I got all the expansions for Sims 2 but haven't got the chance to even install and try them!!! too much space and loading becomes slower...

plus, in the Sims games I love designing the houses more than the actual game, and in Sims 1 it used to be simple to create your own stuff...

but in Sims 2, it's too-3D for me....but I still love the applications that allows you to make walls and floors.....

Arguably the Sims has had a version released on the PlayStation... But I gotta say that most forms of Sims on console have sucked the big rat nuts that dangle from the maxis corporation. But after that stunningly mature and adult statement, I must say that they are fun enough to play.

I was pretty disappointed with The Sims 2, I remember hours and hours of playing The Sims on end, then getting The Sims 2. I had to get a new computer just to run it, and it was just missing the fun I used to have with the old one. Plus, the expansion packs are pretty much rehashes of TS1's expansion packs. I do plan on getting TS3, to see if it's any different. If not, my little sister can have it.

Well, by the article it looks like it will be 180 degrees of better. I was sad that TS2 never released a "making magic" expansion.

I spent a lot of time on the first Sims game, yet next to none on the second. They added many good options with some rather bad interfaces and a way-too-fast aging bit. That, and it slowed my computer to a crawl even though it's new (...ish).

With any luck, the Sims 3 will at least not have the horrendous slowdown and aging speed of the second one. The clunky interfaces I can live with, at least.

This game is awesome.

The fact that the entire town is one giant place your sim can freely run around in is an enormous improvement. No loading screens, cars aren't mandatory and having to go to the damn bathroom has been toned way, way down. Leaving the house is an absolute blast, not a uninspiring chore. The humor is as strong as ever, as is the charm. Overall, I'm very pleased with this one. They took just about everything that was wrong and made it right.

Damn! You make me want to go get it right now even though it's 11:30 at night and I don't have any money!

Curse you Maxis, when you make a good game I have no money!

I do hope the new features include a massive Sim orgy.

HELL YES. As much as I'll miss having my Sims drown in their own piss outside the bathroom door, I am really looking forward to the Sims3.
I played the first one for a few years, but the second one never really seemed as interesting.. It was like a rehash of the first but with better graphics, nothing new. This one seems like it will offer something else. Also, I hope they include more in the original version this time instead of " With this Expansion Pack, Your Sims can get a CHRISTMAS TREE" for 30$

And yes to sim orgy mod

I played sims 3 for a bit, its much better than the last ones but still not a thrilling experience. The worst part really is having a sim who likes to read/ is good at reading. Never do this. I had one and she always carried a book around in her inventory. Because the world is full now everytime she finished work she wouldnt come home automatically because she was stood outside her workplace reading a damn book. Good stuff though.

There's hardly any actual content and I'm waiting for there to be more custom shit so my sims look like people. I don't like how you can't speed up time as much either. But other than that it's pretty fun and I like how you can choose personality traits in create a sim.

I've legitimately never played a Sims game. Ever. To be perfectly honest, the whole concept doesn't thrill me much. However this makes me think there's at least some fun in it. But it just ultimately seems fairly pointless to be honest. Not sure if I'd be willing to fork out for it.

I've been playing it for a few hours and I'm already pretty bored. Its like a game of chess, when you know checkmate is months away. You need patience and the attention span of a robot to enjoy this game. Though posting on explosm about it has exited me!

It's a special kind of game - one with no final goals or any real objectives. You just play god with a bunch of virtual "people" and if you expect more then you're missing the point. A dollhouse is a more accurate representation of Sims than a game.

I get that, I just happen to find it difficult to work on something where there is no ultimate goal (Although achieving the life goal is a neat idea.) Having gone back and played it for another few hours I've found that its easier to obsess about your sims when you form an attachment to them.

Definitely a game for students, having spent one of my precious few days off playing it, I don't feel much of an achievement. Having said that it runs well, great graphics and not a resource hog, so I can play my music and stuff in the background.

I'm enjoying the technical advances more than anything. The loading screens between community lots in the previous 2 games made them pretty irritating to visit, but this is running incredibly smoothly on my computer. I hope there's more free content to download than previous games as well, or at leats more stuff in each expansion.

I've been making a few custom patterns. This is what I've got so far.

potentially NSFW?

The backgrounds and genitalia are fully recolourable in game.
Still no meshing tools yet though. But it's ok, it was two months before even any mods were made for ts2.

e: teehee.

i bought this game, it's not a copy of sims 2 and brings some more to the table. but this table is sooooo huge, you cant reach the pepper. Sims should go back to the basics, just like with mario, and find out what made there old games so good, and recreate that but at the same time bringing a few new things to the table

So you want them to bring new things to the table, but only keep the old things on the table? But at the same time bringing new stuff to the table.

You realize that Final Fantasy 14 is on the way, right? Three is nothing. Almost every game out there has a 2, 3, 4 and sometimes even more than that.
